Healthy Teeth, Healthy Me

St. Louis District Dairy Council is excited to help school nurses reach students with tips on building strong, healthy teeth for a lifetime. Every year in February, in celebration of Children's Dental Health Month, we offer a Healthy Teeth, Healthy Me resource for school nurses.

The 2024 resource is a colorful growth chart to hang in your clinic to remind kids that dairy is important for healthy teeth and bones.  In addition, the first 50 nurses who request the growth chart will receive 50 toothbrushes to give to students!

If you would like to order this resource please complete the below form. Please note that kits are typically mailed in January and are best suited for elementary school students.  Resources are limited and will be distributed on a first come, first served basis. Orders received after Feb. 15th will not be accepted.

Childhood is the most important time to build strong bones and teeth. If kids don't get the nutrients they need, they put their current and future dental health at risk.

The nutrients found in dairy foods, such as calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, and vitamin D, support the development of healthy teeth and oral tissue. Three servings every day of dairy plus plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains set the stage for healthy smiles.
