Jessica Kassel

Jessica Kassel is a Nutrition Educator for the St. Louis District Dairy Council, managing 26 counties in Missouri. Jessica is a registered and licensed dietitian. She earned a bachelor’s degree in science with an emphasis on nutrition and dietetics from Fontbonne University and completed her dietetic internship through Southeast Missouri State University. Jessica also holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Jessica previously worked as both a clinical and outpatient registered dietitian in Jefferson County. She has also been an active volunteer in the JDRF and local diabetes support groups, and she has offered numerous cooking classes for families living with type 1 diabetes. Prior to becoming a registered dietitian, Jessica served as an editor and writer for health-related associations in St. Louis for more than 20 years.

Jessica was born and raised in Milton, Wisconsin, and appreciates how her role in the SLDDC allows her to circle back to her family’s agricultural roots. Dairy is truly her favorite food group, and she has never encountered a piece of cheese she has not loved. When she is not working, you will find Jessica spending time with her husband and two children, cooking up something new in the kitchen, or exploring local state parks.
