Build My Bones

February is National Children’s Dental Health Month – a month dedicated to reminding students how to keep their smiles healthy.

St. Louis District Dairy Council is excited to help school nurses reach students with tips on building strong, healthy teeth for a lifetime. We are offering Healthy Teeth, Healthy Me, a resource kit that includes a dairy seek and find poster to decorate your office, handouts for students, and a set of 50 "lost tooth" itty bitty bags.

Click here to request your kit today. Don't delay; resources are limited and will be distributed on a first come, first served basis. Requests will be accepted through December 22, 2017. The kit will arrive by the end of January. Only one kit per school. If you are a supervisor/director and would like to order kits for multiple schools, please email us at

Childhood is the most important time to build strong bones and teeth. If kids don’t get the nutrients they need, they put their current and future dental health at risk.

The nutrients found in dairy foods, such as calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, and vitamin D, support the development of healthy teeth and oral tissue. Three servings every day of dairy plus plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains set the stage for healthy smiles.

Download the two PDF's below for more information about dairy and dental health, snack ideas, and to learn more about the unique role of cheese in fighting cavities.
